Our Services

Dan Gaze Support Service provides support services for young people to achieve positive outcomes within the school environment, tailored to their individual needs. This helps to engage the young person to collaboratively set their own goals and take responsibility for their progress.

DGSS Ltd have a number of qualified sports coaches. We provide mentoring through sport in schools and in the local community. Helping young people to learn valuable life skills and self-regulation.

Our detached work aims to engage with young people, providing youth work in non-institutional settings. These settings are usually places that young people have chosen to gather, for example on the street, in parks, shopping centres, restaurants, or other community spaces. Rather than serving children in a youth club, school, or college, detached youth work meets children out in the community.

Activities may include building relationships with young people, providing guidance and information, arranging sport and cultural activities and signposting to other support. It is a flexible and youth-centred approach, adapting to the needs of the young people.

DGSS Ltd have run the "Skills Through Sport" programme in multiple boroughs throughout Bedfordshire since May 2024. The programme has been funded by the VERU and has provided 1-2-1 mentoring in schools, weekly community football sessions and pop up sports sessions through the holidays.

With mentor support to enable independence, small steps are taken to build a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. Young people will be taught skills such as de-escalation, conflict resolution, self-regulation, self-awareness and resilience.

Community based 1:1 Mentoring / Education / Support 

We have a provision in Flitwick and another in Hitchin. Both have areas for education of Maths & English, a breakout area with bean bags and games, and a boxing and exercise area. Kitchen & toilet facilities are provided.

DGSS Ltd have been funded by the VERU – YIS CCE to work with referrals of young people who are vulnerable or already involved in gangs, county lines and/or violence. The intervention has been placed around a number of young people in the Bedfordshire area to mentor and to help turn their lives around before it becomes too late.
